As a San Antonio wedding photographer, I get to witness so many love stories, but Lauren and David’s wedding at One Eleven East stayed with me long after the day ended.
Their story is one shaped by distance, resilience, and a deep sense of home found in each other. From moving across countries to building a life together here in Texas, every mile they traveled led them closer to this moment.
And honestly, it showed in every part of their winter wedding day.

The morning felt calm, intimate, and full of anticipation. Lauren spent the early hours surrounded by her closest people, laughter mixing with those quiet, reflective pauses that always seem to happen before a ceremony.

There is something special about winter weddings in Texas. The light is softer, the air carries a stillness, and everything feels just a little more intentional.

As I moved between rooms capturing details and candid moments, I could feel how meaningful this day was. Guests had traveled from all over the world to be there. That alone said so much about Lauren and David and how deeply they are loved.

Before I get into the ceremony, I have to share this because it is at the heart of everything.
When Lauren and David first started dating, David drove four hours every single weekend from Austin to Corpus Christi just to see her. Four hours. Every weekend.

During the reception, his brother joked about how many cars he went through because of all that mileage, and everyone laughed. But underneath that humor was something really beautiful. He never once minded the drive.

For him, home was wherever Lauren was.
And Lauren feels the same way. She told him in her vows that after all their travels and adventures, her favorite place is simply sitting next to him on a plane. Just being beside him as they move through life together.
I do not think there was a single dry eye in the room.

Their ceremony was emotional in the kind of way that quietly builds and then suddenly hits you all at once.

The vows were deeply personal. Honest. Tender. You could feel every word.

As a Texas Hill Country wedding photographer, I have seen many ceremonies, but this one felt especially powerful because of the people present. Friends and family had come from different parts of the world, all gathering in one space to celebrate them.
It was not just about Lauren and David. It was about the community that helped shape them.

And that kind of love fills a room in a way that is impossible to replicate.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits, and the winter light gave us the most beautiful soft glow.

Lauren and David were so natural together. No forced poses, no pressure. Just the two of them laughing, holding hands, and soaking it all in.

We talked about their shared love for travel, Kdramas, and how they simply enjoy being together no matter what they are doing. It reminded me of our engagement session when they treated me to a seafood boil afterward. That is just who they are. Warm, generous, and joyful.
Those little in between moments are always my favorite to photograph because they tell the real story.

The reception was full of energy, laughter, and so many meaningful speeches.

From heartfelt toasts to joyful dancing, every part of the evening reflected who they are as a couple. The room felt alive with love.

Their vendor team brought everything together so seamlessly. It was one of those receptions where you look around and see every generation, every friend group, every piece of their life represented in one space.

Lauren and David’s One Eleven East wedding reminded me that love is not always about grand gestures. Sometimes it is about the quiet consistency. The long drives. The shared flights. The simple act of choosing each other again and again.

Their story is proof that no matter how far you travel, you can still find home in a person.
